Services

Software services, built by a team that ships its own products.

Most software shops ask you to trust a portfolio of slides. We’d rather you try Clairo, DeliveryX, and SubTracker — live products our own team designs, builds, and runs today. That’s the same engineering discipline we bring to custom development, AI integration, and delivery consulting for your business.

Custom software development

Custom Software Development

A focused MVP or a full platform — built end-to-end by engineers who ship their own SaaS products every day, not just client work.

Fixed-priceDedicated team
  • Product discovery and technical scoping before a line of code is written
  • Full-stack web and mobile builds, on the same stack powering our own products
  • API design, integrations, and data architecture built to scale past the first release
  • Code you own outright, with documentation and a clean handover — no lock-in

Proof: smarttoolhq.com, Clairo, DeliveryX, and SubTracker are all built and run by this team.

AI & automation consulting

AI & Automation Consulting

We don't advise on AI from the sidelines — we ship it. Clairo extracts action items, risks, and reports from raw notes using the same patterns we bring to client products.

Fixed-priceHourly
  • AI feature scoping — what is worth automating, and what is not
  • LLM integration into your existing product: extraction, summarization, classification, agentic workflows
  • Prompt and pipeline design with evaluation, not guesswork
  • Responsible-AI guardrails: data handling, rate limiting, human-in-the-loop review

Proof: Clairo is our AI product in production today — role-aware extraction, risk detection, and report generation, live.

IT delivery & PM consulting

IT Delivery & PM Consulting

DeliveryX exists because projects fail at handovers, not at the code. We run engagements through the same 6-gate governance process that powers it, plus the design, QA, and DevOps support to keep delivery on track.

Dedicated teamHourly
  • Delivery governance set-up: gates, templates, RACI, and sign-off discipline
  • UI/UX design and product discovery sprints
  • QA: test planning, automation, and release sign-off
  • DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and ongoing maintenance & support retainers

Proof: DeliveryX's 6 gates and 18 governance templates are the literal process — not a slide deck.

How we work

Every engagement runs through the same 6 gates as DeliveryX.

DeliveryX isn’t a methodology we made up for a sales deck — it’s the governance process we built because we needed it ourselves, and now sell as software. When you hire us, your engagement runs through it too.

Gate 01

Presales

Scope, constraints, and success criteria agreed before any commitment is made.

Gate 02

Initiation

Charter, stakeholders, and risk register set up so everyone starts from the same facts.

Gate 03

Planning

Architecture, timeline, and RACI locked in — the plan the whole team is held to.

Gate 04

Execution

Build, with status tracked against gates, not vibes.

Gate 05

UAT

Client sign-off against agreed criteria before anything ships to production.

Gate 06

Closure & AMC

Handover, documentation, and an optional support retainer — nothing left dangling.

Engagement models

Pick the shape that fits the work.

We scope the right model on a call — here’s the shape each one takes.

Fixed-price project

A defined scope, price, and timeline. Best when you know what needs to be built and want cost certainty.

Custom quote

Dedicated team

A monthly retainer with engineers embedded in your roadmap. Best for ongoing product work or long-running delivery support.

Custom quote

Hourly / time & materials

Billed for advisory, consulting, or support work that does not fit a fixed scope.

Selected work

Case studies are being added.

We’re writing up real engagements now. In the meantime, our own products are the clearest evidence of how we build.

FAQ

Common questions about our services

Do you only build your own products, or do you take on client projects too?
Both. SmartToolHQ ships its own SaaS products (Clairo, DeliveryX, SubTracker, Copypasta) and also takes on client engagements — custom development, AI/automation consulting, and IT delivery/PM consulting with design, QA, and DevOps support. The same engineers and the same delivery process work across both.
What's the difference between using a product and hiring a service?
A product (like DeliveryX or Clairo) is self-serve software you sign up for and use directly. A service is us building, integrating, or running something specific for your team — a custom application, an AI feature inside your existing product, or a delivery governance engagement. Many clients use both: for example, running delivery consulting with the same gate structure that powers DeliveryX.
How do you price a project?
It depends on the engagement. Well-scoped builds are usually fixed-price. Ongoing product work or long-running delivery support is typically a dedicated-team monthly retainer. Advisory or support work that does not fit a fixed scope is billed hourly. We will recommend the right model after a scoping call — get in touch and tell us what you need.
Who owns the code and IP after a service engagement?
You do. Code, designs, and IP built for you under a service engagement belong to you, with full documentation and a clean handover — there is no lock-in to keep using us.
Can a service engagement run alongside one of your products?
Yes. A common pattern is pairing IT delivery/PM consulting with DeliveryX itself — your team gets the governance process and the software that tracks it. Services and products are designed to complement each other, not compete.
