Privacy
The short version: what you copy stays on your device. Copypasta has no accounts, no cloud sync, no ads and no analytics, and this website sets no cookies.
The Copypasta app for Windows
- What it stores. The clips you copy (text, links, images, files names, colors), your boards, pins, reminders and settings, saved in the app's own folder inside your user profile on your own device (under
%APPDATA%). - What it sends. Nothing. The app contains no code that uploads your clips or usage data. Links are opened in your own browser only when you click them.
- Password managers. Clipboard items that a password manager marks as private are skipped. Other copied content may be saved, so use “Pause capture” for sensitive moments.
- Screenshots. Screenshots you take with the built-in editor are saved to your Pictures folder and copied to your clipboard history.
- Encryption. History is not yet encrypted inside the app. We recommend device or disk encryption (for example BitLocker). In-app encryption is planned.
- Your control. Delete any clip, clear history, pause capture, or uninstall and delete the data folder at any time.
This website
- No cookies, no tracking scripts, no third-party fonts or embeds. Everything on these pages loads from this site; the only places you leave it are the links you choose to click.
- The contact buttons open your own email app. Nothing is sent until you press send in your email app, and we only receive what you choose to write.
- The “Open in Gmail” link opens Google's website in a new tab only when you click it; Google's own privacy policy applies there.
- The “Get early access” buttons take you to our checkout page on Gumroad, in a new tab, only when you click them. Gumroad's own terms and privacy policy apply there.
- Hosting providers may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and time of request) for security. We don't use them to profile visitors.
